I’m going to send this to my parents, because she just explained how I feel better than I ever could, so maybe they’ll understand it better. This has been a truly inspiring comic thus far, and for that I thank you.
Honestly, my parents are like that.
I don’t see the problem, I think parents should actually engage their children to know for sure that they are transgender, and actively want a surgery. I wound up saving myself thousands of dollars by discovering that no, in fact, I was not trans, but genderfluid or some other type of nonbinary.
Sometimes you “know” you are a girl, but don’t really know until later that you’re as comfortable being a boy.
I don’t think parents have to actually worry about that happening. Or most folks, really. The whole world does its damnedest to talk you out of gender affirming surgery, both legally and socially, and people under 18 are only able to get puberty blockers, as Charlie stated on previous pages. Regret about this sort of thing is extremely rare, to boot.
Charlie’s mom is using a lot of liberal anti-trans talking points here, as well. I’m sure she didn’t mean it that way consciously, but it is still true. So I’m glad Charlie could argue with her about this directly

Glad it’s still relevant, this was written about 10 years ago now so some of the language might be different
