Having recently been in almost exactly this situation… I actually understand completely. If you think the person will never like you back, you just try to get over it… but if it’s a really close friend, that’s almost impossible to do, since they notice if you avoid them. Where Amber goes wrong here is assuming Nay will never like her back. Which is something I have also struggled with. In my case, self-esteem issues and a misunderstanding, but in her case, I think she’s just 15 and terrified and hasn’t come out of the closet yet.
So yeah, that would be a lot smarter, but feelings are like that. They’re messy and confusing and sometimes it’s really hard to even know what’s going on in your own head, let alone someone else’s.
