   Hey Tab/everyone,
   i think there should be a disclaimer somewhere here about unsafe binding. It makes sense within the story that Tom wouldn’t have a real binder at first, so that’s cool. But in nearly every media/fiction representation of AFAB trans people, often even when it’s CREATED by trans people, you see that ace bandage thing, and it’s making me sick to think that fellow young trans people get the impression that it’s the way to go and might end up with punctured lungs.
   Why not put one or two links about proper binding in the desciptions?

   Really nice that he got a homemade binder from Charlie in the end though <3 Love all of the story!

     Totally!
     There really should be warnings (disclaimers aren’t enough, there’s a need for serious warnings), because binding unsafely can soon make the person unable to bind at all, and may also make them ineligible for surgery for quite a while.
     Punctured lungs isn’t the only risk to consider. The ribs can become misshaped, muscles can get inflamed, and breathing can become excruciatingly painful, even if no ribs are broken so they can puncture lungs.

     (Yes, I know people who have hurt themselves badly by not binding safely.)

       Yeah, and you can also damage your spine by putting that much pressure on it. My friend went to a doctor for back problems from binding with bandages.
       Elastic ones are made for binding chests, and purposely designed so that they won’t hurt you!!
