So it’s been well over a year and you’re probably not expecting an answer at this point, but anyway.
I may be pulling this out my ass, but I believe this series is set in the UK? Just saying, as a Londoner, it really isn’t that big a thing over here. I first heard about it through this comic a couple years ago, and seen it mentioned maybe… Once? Outside it. Like, I actually thought Tab had made it up at first.
Again it has been close to a year before a reply, but this was also originally released years ago on a different site URL. I graduated in 2006 and I don’t remember if Tom’s Story started before then or not, but I remember reading it and talking to one of my best friends about it. We were obsessed with two webcomics, this one mildly concerned our parents when they realized what it was about. Even in Canada though, Capoeira was not well known back then.
