Tab, really, you write and draw an awesome set of comics here. There are issues represented I have never really encountered in detail (let alone thought of, honestly) as well as situations that feel familiar and make me realize how similar everyone really is when it involves sex (anyone who wants and/or enjoys it, anyway, though the situations in Shades also count a lot toward these familiar moments).

…Can somebody tell me what she means by “THAT kind of sex,” or are we not supposed to be able to tell what they were going to do yet? I’m not really sure where this falls in the timeline (right after the first sidestory? After they’ve been dating/sexing for a while?) and I guess I’m just really lost on what she means.
I’m guessing she means sexual intercourse, as opposed to oral sex or mutual masturbation. I’m not sure where this falls on the timeline either, but I would GUESS she is now post-op if they’re getting this far without Jamie being uncomfortable, which would mean she’s out of uni (since she said she wanted to wait until she’s done with school because of the recovery time), and this is a while after Jamie and Charlie’s first side story.
I actually think Charlie is preop at the moment and Jamie was asking to be the receptive partner for anal sex. That explains Charlie’s reaction, I think. Poor girl. :(

I don’t think they were having sex yet. On the very first page, we could see that Charlie was wearing underwear and Jamie was wearing pants that don’t look like they’re unzipped or pulled down at all, so I think they were just dry humping.
since he was saying “fuck me” and the teaser from the kickstarter mentioned him “wanting to try the sex he always wanted but was afriad to try”, I was sorta assuming by all that that he was asking Charlie to actively fuck him which would be like the ultimate “take back” from his abuse to be able to reclaim something like that. But I also thought (no pun intended) about the list they both made in the last side story and he put down his butt was off-limits so I don’t know how long after that this story is placed, her hair seems about the same length but her boobs are definitely bigger so idk. I think the next page will have some conversational insight, but if what I’m guessing/assuming about what they were going to do is right I can totally understand Charlie being freaking out by any hint of force or non-consent (such as having Jamie tied up even though he begging for it) for that big of a leap. But maybe I am reading way to much into things and she was going to ride him ie- she would have him inside her rather than the other way around.
Thanks for all the replies, this is part of my confusion too. Saying “fuck me” doesn’t translate to penetration for me so I didn’t really think of it that way, and I didn’t see the description on the kickstarter. I did, however, remember Jamie’s list – so I really didn’t think they would be meaning anal on Jamie. I’d be surprised if Jamie is ready/interested in trying that, but it sounds like that’s probably what they meant.

I read the scene as Jamie bottoming for Charlie. Charlie’s reluctance is due to fear of triggering his bad memories of penetration while feeling helpless. In light of my interpretation, I was surprised that Charlie would want to be the top in an sexual act that would involve her penis. (Assuming she has not had bottom surgery?) Kind of confusing…

Jamie and Charlie have always been my favourite of the Khaos couples, and this story seems like it’s going to be even better than the other ones. Charlie is even more beautiful than before, and Jamie is such a cutie. I can’t wait to see the rest.
